A Travelogue of interesting places
Off the Beaten Path
by Author, Linda L. Rigsbee
Someone once asked me what equipment was necessary to go fishing. After giving the question some consideration, I said: "A pole, a hook and some line."
Traveling is much the same. All that is required is a method of transportation and a destination. For either, the requirements are simple. How complicated it becomes and what experience we walk away with depends on how we use what we have.
You could go to the popular bait shop and find all the equipment and information you want - but that don’t guarantee you’ll catch a fish. You can study a map and brochures, plan your every move - but that doesn’t guarantee you’ll have a good time. You could hop in a boat and speed to the best fishing spot, or hop in your car and take the interstate to the most popular tourist attraction – but did you miss something? What about that quiet cove or those gently rolling hills? Is something waiting for you there, off the beaten path?
